Georgia Tech News Center Stories
- Telling Amazing Stories3.9.23
- Inaugural Alumnae Honorees3.27.23
Around a rock,
through a forest,
into the clouds,
This Fall,
as Georgia Tech opens its doors to students for the 139th year,
enrolling women for the 72nd year,
a space for gathering, reflecting, teaching, and
Celebrating Georgia Tech Women
will open.
The living, inhabitable tribute
made of 2946 mirrored tiles
will project, suspend, and hold
the continuing story of Georgia Tech Women.
On opening day,
the structure will present an inaugural
70 alumnae tribute tiles
and 98 historical tiles
as a means of starting the story and its telling.
Tiles will be added annually.
These tiles will be reinforced
by an interactive website,
that will evolve to
house additional resources and
in-depth information about the
people / places / events
and the networks between the content
honored in the work.
We look forward to
Celebrating
with you
as it opens its doors, spreads its wings
and takes flight.
